sadly the o projects gallery is closing down.

the final exhibition will be a one night only salon extravaganza, held on tuesday the 21st of october from 6pm.

the o project committee are inviting any artists to bring along a new work on paper to hang in the show.

any artist wanting to submit works for the salon show should bring the works to the gallery at 5pm on tues 21st.

works must be on paper and will be up for one night only.

come down, have a drink and check out some art.

hello all,

i’ve got an exhibition opening up this week.

it’s a group show with some friends of mine and its at THE PROJECTS gallery- 169 Johnston st Collingwood.

the show features quite a varied range of works of quite different styles and mediums. i will be showing a few paintings and some prints.

‘ECHOES OF GOLD’

opens tuesday 19th august 6pm and runs until 16th september.

Rachel Feery and Lisa Stewart present: ‘Echoes of Gold’ – a video-installation that takes the viewer to uninhabited lands of mysterious origins. The artists invite you to climb aboard a fabricated boat to be taken out of the ordinary and into the imaginary. Be taken on a journey through constructed environments and discover the wonderment of uninhibited and magical lands.

This enviro-vision reunites one with ‘nature’ and simulates relief from the everyday.

The boat departs from O Projects on Tuesday 19th and 26th August from 7-8pm (each trip running for approximately 10 minutes), however can also be viewed during usual gallery hours.

i recently finished the doing the cover art for an upcoming release by detective social.
it’s their debut ep and it’s called ‘tiny victories’ and it sounds ace. they’re a melbourne band and can always be found playing quite a few gigs around town. check out their site for songs, news, upcoming gigs, and of course they’ll soon be announcing the launch party for the EP
think the launch is pretty soon so stay tuned and be sure to check them out.

a few illustrations using two random bits of text as starting points and juxtaposing elements.

one excerpt was used as a point of reference for the imagery and the other used as accompanying text.

i think they work well and create interesting relationships. The two random elements form their own strange narrative quite removed from their original context.
